Promotores Verdes:

Building Authentic Leadership & Resilience

Americas for Conservation + the Arts

Session & Speaker Overview

Promotores Verdes is an innovative and impactful grass roots program that engages and empowers families to grow authentic leadership. The program is one of many initiatives of Americas for Conservation + the Arts (AFC+A). The vision for Promotores Verdes is to grow a culture and economy of outdoor recreation for environmental literacy, conservation, and public health.

Promotores Verdes is an intergenerational program connecting families of diverse backgrounds to the outdoors and outdoor adventures. This program promotes health benefits of nature coupled with stewardship action to foster historic and culturally significant place-making. We connect families to green careers utilizing the arts and to grow diverse and inclusive leadership.

Zuza Bohley has been with AFC+A for six years and serves as the Education Director and Deputy Director. AFC+A is a Latina-led and founded 501 (c)(3) environmental nonprofit, based in Colorado and Puerto Rico  with an international reach.

AFC+A house initiatives that advance community resilience, a citizenry of environmental stewards, leveraging arts and culture for conservation gains. The programs promote a diverse and non-segregated conservation movement through culturally relevant education that addresses the needs of previously underserved and underrepresented communities in the green movement.
