Tools for Creating Nontoxic Parks

Vibrant Parks Denver

Session & Speaker Overview

Are you wondering what you can do to help your city or school use less pesticides and create healthier parks?

Join Wanda Osterman-Harris, a neighborhood activist in Denver, Colorado. She is working to develop a coalition of neighbors and organizations to help Denver change its strategies for maintaining the hundreds of parks under its purview.

Her group is advocating for Denver to go pesticide-free and to adopt updated standards to protect the health of people, pets and pollinators, as well as soil and water.

Through her research, Wanda has identified a toolkit of resources that others can use in their own communities to speed this important transformation. The toolkit includes grants, petitions and guidelines from a variety of helpful sources.
